SNOW!!!!!! Forgive me, but it is the first snowfall of my life :-D

This month we have been very busy:

A few weeks ago we had a couple of snowfalls; a rare occurence for us!

Snow at a friend's place.

Wow! Feilding has not had snow for up to 35 years or so!

A really cool experience for us down under! ;-) (it is NZ, though!)

Back to School

The new school term starts again. This term I am working on Abeka Grammar and Composition II, Grade 8, Arithmetic 6, Latin, history, botany and general science studies. Afternoons include music practice, maybe some baking, and occasionally a game of Settlers of Catan. All round I still can't wait till the next holidays!

Cushion Tutorial

You will need:

Two contrasting fabrics
A sewing machine
A rotary cutter
A sewing ruler
A cutting mat
Cotton stuffing

1. To begin, cut three pieces of one fabric, and two of the other, each mesuring 4'' by 12''.

2. Stitch together one by one, until you have them all stitched.

3. Cut a backing the same measurement a the 4'' by 12'' pieces all together.

4. Reverse side out, stitch together, leaving a 2'' gap.

5. fill with stuffing, and close up the hole. (machine would be neater, but hand sewn would hide it better)

Let me know if it works for you!

Esplanade

A while ago we went to the Victoria Esplanade with friends. There was a lovely greenhouse with a little fountain, waterfall, and goldfish. I managed to get a (silent) video of inside.(It may be a little blurry)

We stopped to go to the Esplanade Cafe for lunch, and spent most of the afternoon there. It was a nice day, but a certain area of the playground was being worked on, so, unfortunately, the Flying Fox was taped off :-(
It was still alot of fun, though!

But as for Me......

I have been thinking this week and I thought I needed to blog about something, then I had an idea.....

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD"

Joshua 24:15

"But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my savior, my God will hear me."

Micah 7:7

"But as for me, it is good to be near God."

Psalm 73:28

We had a sermon on Micah chapter seven about 2 weeks ago,and Joshua 24:15 has always been one of my favourite verses. Psalm 73:28 is just a nice verse.
